Dr. Fadil Basyyoni was educated in the United States where he successfully completed his B.SC in ME, M.Sc. degrees and Ph.D. in engineering management. He is a senior management executive offering 25+ years of progression and achievements contributing to strategic goals in multinational/international business environments. He is deeply familiar with international standards of quality; business practices protocols, and their application to the domestic business environment in the Middle East and abroad. He has worked in providing integrated OM and environmental services such as planning, engineering, consultancy, equipment supply, monitoring, solutions, specialized contracting, waste to energy, renewable energy and energy recovery and services.

Saad Al-Shehri has more than 13 years’ experience in the fields of Environment protection and Medical waste management programs. He has been working in SEPCO Environment since August 2002. His key responsibilities are strategic management of the medical waste management program for the entire Saudi Arabia representing SEPCO as a private sector partner with the Government of Saudi Arabia.

Dr. Ahmed S. Al-Arifi is currently the Director General of the International Cooperation Department at the Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) in Saudi Arabia. He is a Chemical Engineer who holds a PhD in Materials Science (2009) and has a long track record of participation in many local and international scientific committees. He has been a member of and has served on many local and international bodies such as the Technical Working Group on Nuclear Desalination TWG-ND (GCC-IAEA), Saudi Council of Engineers, IDA, EDS, etc. He has served on many Boards of Directors such as the Centre of Excellence for Desalination at King Abdulaziz University (CEDT), Centre Excellence for Material of King Saud University (CERM) and others.

Dr Al-Arifi has authored and co-authored several scientific papers and participated in a number of national and international conferences. He has chaired several sessions in IDA, SWWI, national & international conferences and is a member of different committees related to desalination and technologies using solar and renewable energy in the field of desalination.

A versatile petrochemicals, power and water and mining professional with expertise in plant commissioning and operations, EHS and sustainability, acquired during 35 years with leading Saudi Arabian organisations – SABIC , ACWA Power and Ma’aden. Leading the development and implementations of many EHS standards and systems and also many other strategic initiatives in the area of EHS&S.

Dr. Tahir Husain has a PhD degree in civil engineering from University of British Columbia and currently Professor and Associate Dean (Research) at Memorial University in Canada with 38 years’ international experience in water and environmental disciplines. He was a visiting scientist at Harvard School of Public Health in 1995; Director of Continuing Engineering Education (2002-2005), Chair of Civil Engineering (2005-2007); and Director, Executive MBA in Petroleum (2010-2011) at Memorial University. His research interests are in waste management, risk assessment, environmental modelling, and technology development. He wrote a book on Kuwaiti Oil Fires and has contributed on about 300 research publications in refereed journals and conference proceedings. He has contributed on 70 research projects worldwide. Dr. Husain worked with the Research Institute at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in Saudi Arabia for 16 years (1979-95). Dr. Husain is the recipients of several national and international awards. He is currently involved with industries and research organisations nationally and internationally in environmental research with focus on converting waste into valuable products.
